Cooperation with competence
The ACR Network with its 17 research institutes provides applied R&D&I, technology transfer, funding advice, training courses and high-grade testing and measuring accredited at EU level in the following areas:
Building
Sustainability, energy efficiency, innovative building concepts, building materials research, building technology and security & fire protection
Environmental technology
R&D services for the areas of biofuels, small-scale biomass burners, solar thermal energy, photovoltaics and energy storage.
Food
R&D for the entire food supply chain: from raw materials and processing onto transport, storage and distribution.
Materials
Innovative materials concepts, simulation and testing techniques and technologies, development/optimisation of products & processes.
Cross-sectional technologies
Information & communication technologies are important cross-sectional issues for the ACR Network. In the future eLearning in particular will be used more extensively in the ACR areas of focus. The Network is given support by the ACR institute Österreichisches Institut für angewandte Telekommunikation (ÖIAT).
The accompanying social and economic research with a focus on SMEs and with the aim of providing data & information and developing the bases for decision-making is also essential for ACR. The required know-how comes from the ACR institute KMU Forschung Austria (KMFA).
